<p><strong>February 2009- India, the safest employment destination</strong></p>
<p>A survey by Hewitt, an HR consultancy firm, predicted in February that salaries would continue to rise at an average of 8.2% in 2009. It further said that India was one of the safest options for employments because only 16% of the Indian companies were considering layoffs as an option whereas 55% of the US companies and 30.6% of the Chinese companies were considering layoffs as the most viable option. The survey also projected that about 60% companies were still thinking of hiring new employees. 9 out of 10 companies were also giving promotions to the right candidates. It placed <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.manpowerindia.net/hospitals-health-care.html">Healthcare</a> sector among the top five sectors for 2009.</p>
<p><strong>April 2009- Recruiters say no layoffs but freeze fresh hirings</strong></p>
<p>Then came the survey report of Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) which said that most Indian companies were against layoffs but they had also stopped fresh hirings and staff incentives with a curb on outstation travel for executives. The information technology and outsourcing, which were the booming sectors of the past, had become more conservative with 84% recruiters stating that there will be no more hirings.</p>
<p><strong>July 2009- Recruiters positive about adding new jobs</strong></p>
<p>And now comes the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.alootechie.com/content/44-recruiters-anticipate-new-jobs-be-added-2009-46-expect-layoffs-survey">latest report </a>of the survey conducted by Naukri.com which has brought some relief by stating that 44% of recruiters predict addition of new jobs. Further, 37.5% of them have anticipated replacement hiring while 13.4% expect a freeze. However, a small 4.6% recruiters still anticipate layoffs in 2009. The hiring scenario of industries such as pharma &amp; medical, construction &amp; engineering and <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.manpowerindia.net/telecom-jobs.html">telecom</a> is positive where over 50% of the recruiters are planning to create new jobs during 2009. About 15% recruiters from IT industry indicated that there is no possibility of recruitments during the year, while 4% went off to say that there would be layoffs. The worst case is that of ITeS where over 8% recruiters indicated layoffs during the year 2009.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today, the height of competition in applying for a job becomes to stiff in the sense that the number of applicants in certain job vacancy is to many.Â  In view of this, you are lucky enough to reach the interview part when applying for a job.</p>
<p>On the interview part, you don&#8217;t need to be intelligent in answer all the questions, but you need to be smart and attentive to impress the interviewer; thus, you will be included in the list of lucky applicants.</p>
<p>The killer question: How do you rate yourself?</p>
<p>You need prepare yourself in answering this question because it does not only mean you just give a rate of yourself, but the interviewer is expecting a way beyond what is asked.Â  So, how do rate yourself then?</p>
<p>You should be aware that you are not in the capacity to rate yourself because you will just provide a bias rate.Â  Obviously, those persons who had seen your performance are the ones who can give you a rate based on the category they are looking for.Â  Thereâ€™s no way you can give yourself a rate.</p>
<p>You need to narrate first some of your experiences and commendation if thereâ€™s any with regards to previous employments.Â  Remember not to mention any of those problems you encountered and only those you have good participation which you were given commendations will be narrated.Â  This is not only to impress the interviewer but also for the interviewer to see you are responsible enough in performing your duties and responsibilities in your work. </p>
<p>If this is your first job, you need to mention those experiences during your college days.Â  Remember that anything you will mention should be stated in your resume or in the application you sent.Â  Or, if you donâ€™t have such things to mention, you can safely point out that your professors had gave a rate of ### which is indicated in your transcript of records.</p>
<p>It is better to have some defensive explanation first before giving a rate of yourself than giving the rate and then explaining later.Â  As mentioned above, it is not the rate the interviewer wants to hear from you, but on how professional you are in performing your job.</p>
<p>So, when you started to apply for a job vacancy, I would like to suggest you start also searching for possible interview questions which you will try to answer of course..Â  After all, no one is exempted on this part and you will answer all those questions with regards to your knowledge and belief.</p>
