Before advertisers sign the contract, they want to know who will view their ads. Demographic data with age, gender, income, and interests are useful to match ads and your site. This information can be obtained from user registration data, surveys, polls and your own interactions with visitors.</p>

<p><strong>1. CPA (Cost Per Action, Cost Per Acquisition, Cost Per Lead, Cost Per Purchase)</strong><br />
The advertiser is charged every time a visitor makes a transaction or purchases a product. Publishers can either set a price for each conversion or let the advertisers choose their price. Advertisers like this model since it offers the highest quality and return on investment. Advertisers often control the pricing with this model. When a purchase or lead is generated, it&#8217;s counted as one conversion and is reported to the advertiser. For an online diamond store (eg: BlueNile, Zale, etc.), a lead could earn $10 or more.</p>
<p><strong>2. CPC (Cost per Click)</strong><br />
The advertiser is charged for each click on their ads. Click prices range from as low as 10 cents to more than $10 US dollars per click. Either publisher or advertiser can set the price. However, the concern for advertisers with this model is click frauds, which means click counters are inflated artificially to drive up the advertising cost. The total online ad spending in Q2 of 2009 is $13.9 billion dropped from $14.7 billion in Q2 of 2008. Among the online advertising categories such as online ads, display ads and classifieds, search ads are the least affected.</p>

The US online ad market is now worth $6.2 billion in Q2 of 2009, while it was $6.6 billion in the corresponding period last year. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) released report on US Internet advertising revenues for the first half of 2009. According to the report, Internet advertising revenues were $10.9 billions in the first half of the year, declined by 5.3% compare to the last year during the same period. The revenues were $11.5 billions for first six months of 2008.<br />

Search and display related revenues are on top</strong><br />
According to the report, Search and Display related advertising continue in top two positions in revenue generation. Search ad revenue totaled $5,148 million with 47% of the total Internet advertising revenue. The segment showed an improvement of 1.7% from last year during the same period. When it comes to the Display related ad revenues including banner ads, rich media, digital video and sponsorship, the segment totaled $3,759 million. This accounts for 34% of the total advertising revenue. However, the segment declined by 1.1% when compared to the corresponding period of last year.</p>
<p>Other formats such as Classified ads totaled $1,116 million in revenues declined by 4%. Lead generation format revenues totaled $728 million. And E-mail ad revenues totaled $149 million.<br />

About Pricing models ad revenues</strong><br />
According to the report, Performance based pricing solution is the most prevalent pricing model since 2006 that maintained a strong sequential growth rate. It is followed by CPM/Impression based pricing, which declined as a percentage of revenue over the past several years. Hybrid pricing model has seen the greatest loss in percentage revenue, dipping sharply from 17% in 2004 to 4% in the first six-months of 2009.</p>
<p>In 2004 CPM/Impression based pricing was on top among other solutions with 42% and improved constantly until 2006. However, since 2007, it declined continuously. Moreover, Performance based pricing solution simultaneously increased rapidly to clinch the top share. In 2007, Performance based solutions accounted for 57% and CPM pricing solution accounted for 45%.</p>
<p>In the current year for the first half, Performance based pricing accounts 58%, CPM has 38% and Hybrid related solutions have 4% in the total online advertising revenues.</p>
<p>The drop in online advertising revenues shows that economic crisis can also hit online marketing. During this situation, the growth of Performance based pricing solutions shows that customers are closely watching the results and they are not spending the same as earlier.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In printing, as it is with just about everything else in life, if you start off wrong, things usually don&#8217;t get better &#8211; they get worse.Â  Before any ink goes on paper, a mail piece has to be designed and if that design is off &#8211; low resolution artwork, missing links, no bleeds or just the plain old truth that it is a bad design &#8211; then the only thing that can help save a job is spending more money. Personally, I don&#8217;t know of anyone who likes doing that.</p>
<p>A lot of small businesses and groups want to send out mailers but they don&#8217;t have access to a graphic designer or they can&#8217;t afford the services of one (though it is my opinion that you can&#8217;t afford <em>not </em>to use the services of a good graphic designer) so they design the piece themselves (A WARNING label should be attached to the file for the poor printer who receives a file in a Word document) and that almost never works out <em>OR </em>they decide to just not pursue the direct mail piece out of frustration.</p>
<p>A simple solution to this problem is finding an online site like www.gagepress.com that offers free pre-designed postcards.Â  With these design templates all you have to do is add your text to their design.Â  Companies that offer this type of service usually offer several categories to choose from, so finding a design to your liking just requires you to choose from the samples.Â  Here is a list of categories:</p>
