During the game testing cycle the video game testers go through a series of tasks, all similar in a way, to make sure and find all the bugs.

Depending on what the tasks of the day is, you might have to do some general game testing, which is things like walking around different levels holding two buttons simultaneously.

If you’re testing an RPG game, one of the most common task is, walking around cities, talking to every NPC (non-player-character) and writing down what each one says.

And of course, if you’re going to test a video game you will be asked to go through the whole game most times. This means you have to beat the game in different difficulties.

Making sure all the items in the game works properly is probably one of the most time consuming tasks for video game testers, not to mention a bit boring.

So as you can see, video game testing is a lot different than playing a video game for fun. You have to be patient and be ready to do a lot of repetitive, sometimes frustrating work.

But for a job that can be done at home and pays pretty decent, It is so worth the boring little no brainer tasks they throw at you.
