Why is alcohol the number 1 used and abused drug in America?

“Because everyone is persuading one another to do it, they tell each other “this will calm you down.”. Also there is heavy marketing to get people to do this. Most grown ups homes have alcohol in the fridge, because they drink it, and this makes kids have easy access to it”, says Alya Nuri.

How can parents help their kids not get into drinking?

“Educate them about it; why it isn’t good for them. Explain to them what alcohol can do to their bodies, and their brains.  Also the best role models are those who don’t do it themselves,” says Alya Nuri.

What 5 things to say or do if someone is offering you Alcohol:

1.  Just say, “No”.

2. Say: “Why do you keep telling me, when I said “NO?””

3. Say, “I don’t want my breath to smell and throw up”.

4. Simply walk away.

5. Say:  “I’m sorry; I don’t want to kill my brain cells.”
